Here is some of the early reaction from around the Inter-Google to Sunday’s 45-17 loss by the New York Giants to the Green Bay Packers.
Here are a couple of quotes from Pat Traina’s game report at Inside Football:
“There’s no way anyone wins in this league when you turn the ball over six times,” said head coach Tom Coughlin. “It’s a very, very bad component of our team and we’ve demonstrated a little bit of it this year. We thought we had it under control, but obviously we didn’t have it under control tonight.”
“It is the same scheme that we have been playing and we have played some good teams, but it is nothing out of the ordinary,” said DT Barry Cofield, who described the mood of the team’s frustration as being at an all-time high.
“We just haven’t played well man for man. We miss tackles and a lot of things have come to the forefront at the end of the season. We are not a fundamentally sound team and we have to answer for that. We have been taught the right way to do everything, but we just haven’t been doing it,” he added.
From Ralph Vacchiano of the Daily News:
It’s hard to believe it’s come to this considering the Giants were once 6-2 and looking like the best team in the conference. It’s impossible to believe considering that one week ago they were leading the Eagles 31-10 with 8:17 left to play.
But since then, the Giants have been a disaster.
Here is a quote from Giants center Shaun O’Hara:
“Losing today was awful, but the cherry on top was now we’re stuck here. I don’t know if we’d be too thrilled, if we won, to be stuck here. But to add insult to injury, now we have to stick here and just chew on this game and chew on what we’ve done to ourselves.”
