Giants Fire Back At Michael Strahan; Strahan Rips The Media

New York Giants players are firing back at Michael Strahan after he said earlier this week they “should be ashamed” after their gut-wrenching loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Strahan is taking shots at the “idiotic” media.

Ah, a good-old fashioned New York media flame war. Gotta love it!

Giants’ defensive captain Justin Tuck is clearly hurt by Strahan’s comments.

“I just don’t understand how he can be on our – and I’m not saying he’s not on our side – but talking us up one day and then the next day say that,” Tuck said. "If I’m in that situation I might just close my mouth and not say nothing. But he’s entitled to his opinion and I’m entitled to not really care.

“I’m not ashamed and I don’t think anybody in this locker room should be ashamed,” Tuck said. “We played a great 52 minutes and it just wasn’t for us. Sometimes things happen and you have no explanation about it. And I don’t have any explanation.

“I’m not making any excuses. We played like crap those last 8 minutes, but I would never start saying things like that ain’t never happened to anybody else. I’m sure we lost a lot of games when Strahan was here too.”

Defensive tackle Barry Cofield also took issue with Strahan’s remarks.

“Guys forget,” Cofield said Wednesday. “It’s like they never lost games. Once you go to the media and start talking it’s like you don’t remember any of the bad losses that you had.”

Strahan, for his part, is lashing out at the “idiotic” media. Here is a series of Strahan tweets this afternoon:

@thebluescreen is acting like I’m slamming the giants. Idiotic writing as usual. Call me to get it right

obviously ive been thru it before. That’s y I know how it feels b/c that’s how I felt. Gotta luv writers who dont know anything commenting on everything. Ha!!

To the ny writers trying to use me to make a headline your pathetic… but I’m not surprised. Life must be miserable for u or u miss me. Lol

I guess I would be lumped in with the ‘pathetic’ crowd since I took issue with Strahan Wednesday at Big Blue View.

I maintain that all Strahan had to do when he made his original comments is reference the fact that he has been through this before. He came off, to me, sounding like he couldn’t understand how something like this could happen. Clearly, he can.
