Good morning, New York sports fans! It's a football Sunday, and a huge one for the local teams.

- The New York Giants face the Philadelphia Eagles at New Meadowlands Stadium (1 p.m.) with the teas tied atop the NFC East. The Eagles have beaten the Giants five straight times. This game could not only determine the NFC East winner, it could put the loser in danger of missing the playoffs entirely. Join the Game Thread at Big Blue View. ↵
- The New York Jets travel to Pittsburgh (4:15 p.m.) today. The Jets are not likely to be in danger of missing the playoffs, but they have played poorly in consecutive losses to New England and Miami, and there are lots of questions about their offense. Playing the Steelers is not generally a way to get healthy on offense. Join the Game Thread at Gang Green Nation. ↵
- Hold all that 'Knicks are elite' talk. The Knicks lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in overtime Saturday night, Cleveland's first win in 11 games. New York has now lost three straight after falling previously to Boston and Miami. The Knicks are exciting again, and they are good, but it's the games like this one against the Cavs that elite teams find ways to win. See Posting and Toasting for more. ↵
- Omar Minaya might find a role with the New York Mets working for Sandy Alderson. ↵
- The Rangers, Devils and Islanders all lost in NHL action Saturday. See our team pages for more on those games. ↵
