Monday I asked how high the surging New York Giants would climb in the SB Nation NFL Power Rankings for Week 10 after overwhelming Seattle, 41-7, in Seattle for their fifth straight victory.
The answer? Nowhere. The Giants remained stuck in neutral, according to the voters at the mothership. They were No. 7 a week ago, and are still No. 7 today.
Sorry, but I have to question the sanity of the mothership this week, or at least the voters the mothership relied on for this poll.
How on earth can the Giants NOT climb this week? Oh, and how on earth can the Jets — who were extremely unimpressive and were basically handed a victory Sunday by the 2-6 Detroit Lions — actually move up from No. 5 to No. 3?
It makes no sense to me whatsoever. Most any expert analyst will tell you right now that the Giants are currently playing better football than the Jets, but apparently that did not impress our voters. Most will also tell you the Giants are currently the NFC’s best team — yet Green Bay sits at No. 2 behind the top-ranked Baltimore Ravens while the Giants are at No. 7.
I often grade things using ‘Kudos & Wet Willies’ to honor the good or the bad. By that standard, this week’s SBNation.com voters get a ‘Wet Willie.’
