New York Giants reserve offensive lineman Adam Koets is out for the season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
Koets is a 2007 sixth-round draft pick. He made three starts at center this season in place of Shaun O’Hara, and has also filled in as a blocking tight end.
Of course, no one likes to see injuries — especially in a blowout game like Sunday’s 41-7 victory by the Giants. Koets’ loss is unfortunate for the Giants as he was filling in capably for O’Hara, even if the Giants chose to play the more experienced Rich Seubert at center Sunday.
Per Mike Garafolo, the Giants are still waiting for word on the hip injury suffered Sunday by David Diehl, who was playing guard in the team’s re-shuffled offensive line. The Giants are likely to replace Koets with offensive lineman Kevin Boothe, who has been on the Physically Unable to Perform List.
