NFL Power Rankings, Week 13: Jets, Giants In Top 10

The SBNation.com Week 13 NFL Power Rankings are not up yet, but that doesn't mean we don't have plenty of rankings to discuss. Our cohorts over at SB Nation Atlanta put together something each week that they call the Unbiased Power Rankings, using a mathematical formula to determine the best and worst teams.

Interestingly, when it's all said and done the formula pretty much coincides with the polls humans vote on. This week the 'unbiased' rankings have the New York Jets at No. 5 and the New York Giants at No. 10, just about right for both teams I believe.

For a quick comparison, SI.com's Peter King has the Jets No. 3 and the Giants No. 11 in his weekly 'Fine Fifteen.'

Bigger concern for the Giants, though, is making the playoffs. At 7-4 it won't be easy in a crowded NFC playoff picture. The 'unbiased' rankings, in fact, have the Giants on the outside looking in when the playoffs begin.

The Jets (9-2) don't have to worry about getting in. The question is whether they will win the AFC East or end up as a wild-card, and Monday's showdown with New England will go a long way toward answering that question.
