The New York Giants today placed cornerback Bruce Johnson on injured reserve, meaning he will miss the rest of the season. The second-year reserve cornerback underwent arthroscopic knee surgery last week.
To replace Johnson on the roster the Giants were awarded defensive end Alex Hall off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals. Hall, 25, was with the Giants in training camp. He was a member of the Cleveland Browns in 2008 and 2009. As a rookie in 2008, Hall played in all 16 games with two starts and finished with 26 tackles (18 solo), three sacks and 12 special teams tackles. Last year, he played in 14 games and had 10 tackles (eight solo) and six special teams tackles.
Johnson had one defensive tackle and four special teams tackles.
