SB Nation NFL Power Rankings Week 8: New York, New York!

Our friends at the mothership, SBNation.com, have released their Week 8 NFL Power Rankings. Each week it seems the news just gets better and better for the New York Jets and New York Giants.

The Jets just had their bye week, and while they were resting they remained No. 1 in the eyes of the SB Nation voters. The 5-1 Jets are ahead of No. 2 New England and No. 3 Pittsburgh.

SBNation summed up the Jets at this point in the season pretty simply.

The best team in the NFL? Hard to disagree with that right now.

Yes, that's hard to disagree with. What matters, though, is being No. 1 at the end.

The Giants, on the other side, continue to move up the rankings. They are at No. 8, up one notch after an impressive 41-35 Monday Night Football victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

The Giants are now 5-2, alone in first place in the NFC East.

Here is what SBNation had to say about them:

Is this the best team in the NFC? They just might be.

The Giants are playing well enough in a weaker NFC to be in that conversation. Again, being No. 1 right now is nice but it is not important.
