Two NFC East rivals will face off in Philadelphia Sunday night as the New York Giants face the Philadelphia Eagles in a Sunday Night Football game which will cement one as the early-season leader of the division.
The Giants, who are 2-1 on the year thus far, are coming off of a convincing 36-7 win over the Carolina Panthers last week which saw halfback Andre Brown rush for 113 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. But it was the team's defense that earned the victory, picking off Panthers quarterback Cam Newton three times and recovering two fumbles to keep the Carolina offense subdued.
The Eagles, also 2-1, are recovering from a 27-6 loss to the upstart Arizona Cardinals. In that loss, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick fumbled twice and receiver Damaris Johnson fumbled another to significantly limit the talented Philadelphia offense. Turnovers have been a problem for Philly this season, who are tied with Carolina for last in the NFL with a turnover margin of -6.
Undoubtedly, turnovers should play a crucial role in deciding who earns the victory tonight.
