New York hosts the New Orleans Saints on Sunday as the Giants look to hold on to their lead in the NFC East. New York comes into the week at 7-5 and just one game ahead of the Redskins and Cowboys after falling to Washington on Monday night. The Giants have now lost three of their last four games after a 6-2 start looked to ensure an easy path to the division title.
After taking a 13-10 halftime lead over the Redskins, the Giants could only muster a field goal in the final two minutes and eventually coughed up the lead with 11:31 to go in the fourth quarter. They will try to get back on track against a New Orleans team that has been streaky in 2012.
The Saints began the season by losing their first four games, but recovered to win five of the next six to pull even at 5-5. The schedule got a lot tougher for New Orleans in the last two weeks, as it hosted the 49ers and made a trip to Atlanta. That resulted in back-to-back losses and now the Saints need another streak to get back into the playoffs.
