Giants-Redskins score update: New York leads 16-10

Washington committed the first turnover of the game when Alfred Morris fumbled in the redzone.

The New York Giants scored the only three points of the third quarter as they extended their lead over the Washington Redskins to 16-10.

Washington drove to New York's 15-yard line early in the third quarter when Alfred Morris rushed for 6 yards before fumbling the ball. Giants linebacker Chase Blackburn recovered the fumble and halted the Redskins' drive.

On the ensuing offensive possession by the Giants, Eli Manning connected with Victor Cruz for 49 yards to set up a 35-yard field goal from Lawrence Tynes to extend New York's lead to 16-10 with 3:36 remaining in the third quarter. The field goal was Tynes' third of the game, as he also connected from 40 and 39 yards in the first half.

Manning is 19-30 passing for 276 yards and one touchdown after three quarters. Victor Cruz has five receptions for 104 yards, and Ahmad Bradshaw leads the Giants' rushing attack with 20 carries for 89 yards.

The Giants have held Robert Griffin III to 9-of-14 passing for 117 yards.
