Finally! The NFL picks and predictions gods are helping me out.
After weeks of just missing out on picks and seemingly feeling like I have no idea what's going on, I broke ground last week going 9-5-0 overall -- a few more extra points here and there, and it would have been a HUGE week.
The result has me close to the .500 mark overall (62-64-5) and put me in good position to make a strong second-half run.
My advice, check out my picks and roll with them.
(All point spreads provided by Oddshark.com and Bovada.)
Indianapolis Colts (5-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (1-7), Thurs., 8:20 p.m. ET on NFL Network
Point spread: Colts 4-point favorite.
Pick: Colts 24, Jaguars 14
Prediction: At this point, I am all in on Andrew Luck and Indianapolis making the playoffs. I do not feel the same for Jacksonville.
New York Giants (6-3) at Cincinnati Bengals (3-5), 1 p.m. on FOX
Point spread: Giants 4 1/2-point favorite.
Pick: Giants 27, Bengals 17
Prediction: New York should respond from last week's loss with a solid victory at Cincinnati.
Tennessee Titans (3-6) at Miami Dolphins (4-4), 1 p.m. on CBS
Point spread: Dolphins 6-point favorite.
Pick: Dolphins 21, Titans 20
Prediction: Miami took a step back last week, and despite Tennessee REALLY struggling I like them to keep this one close and cover the point spread.
Detroit Lions (4-4) at Minnesota Vikings (5-4), 1 p.m. on FOX
Point spread: Lions 1-point favorite.
Pick: Lions 34, Vikings 30
Prediction: This could be the last chance for both teams to stay in the playoff race, and with a coin flip I am going with the team with the most talent.
Buffalo Bills (3-5) at New England Patriots (5-3), 1 p.m. on CBS
Point spread: Patriots 11-point favorite.
Pick: Patriots 42, Bills 24
Prediction: I don't know the last time Buffalo won a game in New England. I was like three-years-old or something.
Atlanta Falcons (8-0) at New Orleans Saints (3-5), 1 p.m. on FOX
Point spread: Falcons 3-point favorite.
Pick: Falcons 30, Saints 24
Prediction: We will learn this week if New Orleans will be able to completely turn things around and make a postseason push. I just don't think it happens.
San Diego Chargers (4-4) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-4), 1 p.m. on CBS
Point spread: Buccaneers 3-point favorite.
Pick: Chargers 24, Buccaneers 23
Prediction: This is an interesting game, and will test the theory of if the NFC is really better than the AFC. In this match up, I don't think it is.
Denver Broncos (5-3) at Carolina Panthers (2-6), 1 p.m. on CBS
Point spread: Broncos 4-point favorite.
Pick: Broncos 35, Panthers 20
Prediction: If there's one thing I've learned this season: don't pick against Peyton Manning. So, I won't.
Oakland Raiders (3-5) at Baltimore Ravens (6-2), 1 p.m. on CBS
Point spread: Ravens 9-point favorite.
Pick: Ravens 40, Raiders 10
Prediction: Baltimore rolls in this one. Trust me.
New York Jets (3-5) at Seattle Seahawks (5-4), 4:05 p.m. on CBS
Point spread: Seahawks 6-point favorite.
Pick: Seahawks 21, Jets 17
Prediction: New York will stay in this one, and should cover the spread, but just don't see them pulling out this one on the road.
Dallas Cowboys (3-5) at Philadelphia Eagles (3-5), 4:25 p.m. on FOX
Point spread: 1 1/2-point favorite.
Pick: Cowboys 24, Eagles 20
Prediction: This NFC East showdown will be close, however, in the end Philadelphia miscues will decided this one.
St. Louis Rams (3-5) at San Francisco 49ers (6-2), 4:25 p.m. on FOX
Point spread: 49ers 11 1/2-point favorite.
Pick: 49ers 31, Rams 9
Prediction: San Francisco at home against a team that is coming off a disappointing performance.
Houston Texans (7-1) at Chicago Bears (7-1), 8:20 p.m. on NBC
Point spread: Bears 1-point favorite.
Pick: Bears 24, Texans 21
Prediction: What a nice Sunday Night showdown that features two teams with solid defenses. Expect it to be low scoring and the home team pulling off the slim victory.
Kansas City Chiefs (1-7) at Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3), 8:30 p.m. on ESPN
Point spread: Steelers 12 1/2-point favorite.
Pick: Steelers 40, Chiefs 17
Prediction: When was the last time Kansas City actually showed up for a game? Think that changes on the road in primetime? Me neither.
Last week's record: 9-5-0. Season record: 62-64-5.
