The New York Giants opened as four-and-a-half-point-favorites for their Week 9 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The line has since moved down to three or three-and-a-half at most sportsbooks.
The Giants have won their last four games, and covered the spread in three of those four contests. Last week they beat the Dallas Cowboys 29-24 and covered as two-and-a-half-point-favorites to move their record against the spread to 4-4 on the season.
The Steelers are coming off a 27-12 win over the Washington Redskins, covering the four-and-a-half point spread. The win was their second straight cover and moved the Steelers up to 3-4 against the spread on the season. But Pittsburgh has struggled on the road this season, where the Steelers are just 1-3 against the spread.
The most important matchup will be the top-ranked Pittsburgh passing defense, which holds teams to 182.6 yards per game in the air, against the Giants' sixth-ranked passing offense, which is throwing for 282.1 yards per game.
The total for the game opened at 47 points, but has since moved to 47.5. The total has gone under in 10 of the last 14 Steelers games and 11 of the last 15 New York games.
