NFL lines and odds Week 8: Giants vs. Cowboys

The Giants hit the road looking to avenge their season-opening loss against the Cowboys.

The Giants head to Dallas as road favorites this week, looking to avenge their season-opening loss in September. The defending Super Bowl champions opened the NFL's regular season with a Wednesday night dud against the Cowboys, but both teams have been through plenty of changes in the intervening weeks. The Giants have ascended to the top of the NFC East, while the Cowboys squeaked out a win against Carolina last week to pull even to .500.

The Cowboys have not played at home since Oct. 1, an embarrassing loss to the Bears on Monday Night Football. They have struggled to close out games against the Ravens and Panthers since that loss, while the Giants have reeled off three straight wins. Eli Manning and his weapons on the outside continue their assault on the league, but Dallas has a top-five pass defense through its first six games.

New York is a slight favorite, with the odds makers setting the line at 2 at the beginning of the week. That has come down a half-point and gone up a half-point in different places. The over/under is set at 47, with the potential for a shootout between Manning and Tony Romo. Dallas is desperate for a home win and will do everything it can to knock New York out of the driver's seat in the division. But can the Cowboys pull off the upset at home?
