New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is following up his breakout 2011 season with another strong year and has shown that he deserves a better contract. In Newsday, Bob Glauber says it is time for the Giants to reward Cruz for his production.

Cruz leads the Giants with 50 receptions so far this season, but said he has been doing his best to block out the disparity between his performance and his rookie salary. His salary for 2012 is just $540k, making him the NFL's lowest paid superstar, while other wide receivers make over $10 million per year. Cruz told Glauber, "I feel like if I start thinking about it, it will start consuming me, and I don't want it to get that way."

Cruz is currently in the top five in the NFL in receptions, yards, and touchdowns, which he leads with seven. He is on pace for 114 catches for 1,433 yards and 16 touchdowns this season.
