Giants-Redskins score update: Washington leads 3-0 after 1st quarter

Washington Redskins kicker Kai Forbath kicked a 20-yard field goal in the first quarter to put the Redskins up, 3-0, over the New York Giants going into the second quarter.

In their only drive of the first quarter, the Redskins moved the ball 93 yards on 17 plays, but couldn't cap the possession with a touchdown.

The Giants punted in their first possession of the first quarter.

Eli Manning is 6-of-7 for 67 yards. Hakeem Nicks has two catches for 20 yards for New York. At the end of the first quarter, Martellus Bennett hauled in a 31-yard catch to help the Giants down the field.

New York has run the ball three times for 6 yards.

Defensively, Chase Blackburn has four total tackles to lead the Giants defense. Chris Canty, Corey Webster and Markus Kuhn each have two solo tackles.

Redskins running back Alfred Morris had 10 carries for 46 yards in the first quarter.
