C.J. Watson Signing: Brooklyn Nets Ink Veteran Guard

The Brooklyn Nets have reached an agreement in principle with point guard C.J. Watson, the team announced Saturday night. Watson, a five-year veteran who spent the last two seasons with the Chicago Bulls, would seemingly fill the backup point guard role behind Deron Williams.

The deal is reportedly for two years at the veteran minimum.

"C.J. has the ability to be productive in a variety of roles, and he will add quality and versatility to our backcourt rotation," said Nets general manager Billy King.

Watson, 28, averaged 9.7 points and a career-high 5.1 assists per game last season for the Bulls in 49 games, including a career-best 25 starts. For his career he averages 7.8 points and 2.6 assists in 20.6 minutes per game.
