NBA Free Agency Rumors 2012: Gerald Wallace Officially Re-Signs With Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets announced Wednesday that they have re-signed small forward Gerald Wallace. Though the team did not disclose the terms of the contract, Wallace's deal has been reported at four years and $40 million.

"Re-signing Gerald was a top priority this offseason, and we are very pleased that he will continue to be a Net," said general manager Billy King. "He is a proven veteran who is a leader both on and off the court, and his style of play is critical to the team’s success."

Wallace, 29, was acquired in a trade at midseason last year. After joining the Nets, he appeared in 16 games with the team, all starts, and averaged 15.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.4 steals in 35.8 minutes.

The one-time All-Star has career averages of 13.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals in 31.1 minutes.
