To say a Sunday victory for the New York Knicks would be huge is a understatement. That's because the Knicks, who own just a half game over the Milwaukee Bucks for the last playoff spot in Eastern Conference, host the first-place Chicago Bulls at 1:00 p.m. on ABC.
A loss for the Knicks (28-27) would lead to a two-way tie with the Bucks (28-28) for the last postseason spot with 10 games remaining on the regular-season schedule. A victory, however, would push New York's lead back up to a full game.
On Thursday, the Knicks earned a hard-fought victory at the Orland Magic, despite not having forward Amare Stoudemire, who may return sometime next week, and guard Jeremy Lin, who's more than likely done for the season.
The Bulls (43-13) have been in cruise control all season, even though, star point guard Derek Rose has been battle back spasms, which has forced him to miss a few games. Rose is a game-time decision come Sunday's contest.
Overall, this will be the third of a four-game series between these two teams. The Bulls won the first two contests, which were both close.
