A beaten-down yet thriving New York Knicks squad meets the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night. (Game Time: 7 p.m., TV Schedule: MSG)
The Knicks are currently clinging to a two-game lead for the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff berth after winning four of their last five despite dealing with serious injuries to Amare Stoudemire and Jeremy Lin.
The Knicks' most recent win came against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night, when J.R. Smith came off the bench to score 20 points, nine rebounds and five steals to pace a 91-75 victory. Carmelo Anthony added 19 points and Tyson Chandler pitched in with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite New York's growing injury ward, Anthony predicted the team would finish strong enough to qualify for the playoffs. Anthony feels he is finally being used correctly now by interim coach Mike Woodson, whose offense provides more post-up opportunities for Anthony than Mike D'Antoni's ever did.
