The New Jersey Nets will be without Deron Williams' services again on Wednesday against the New York Knicks. The star point guard is still bothered by the sore right calf that kept him from competing in Monday's 101-98 loss to the Miami Heat.
Coach Avery Johnson is hoping Williams can return in New Jersey's following game on Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
"He hasn't improved enough to where he can play in a game," Nets coach Avery Johnson said after the team took its official team photo. "We're treating him ... hopefully once we get past tomorrow, we'll have those two days off."
Gerald Wallace is questionable for Wednesday with a sore hamstring and Shelden Williams' status is likewise unsure with a hyperextended left knee. The Nets plan to put Wallace through a difficult workout on Tuesday and determine how he recovers.
