The New York Knicks look to bounce back Tuesday at the Dallas Mavericks (8:30, MSG) after dropping an overtime affair to the Boston Celtics this weekend.
Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points Sunday against Boston, Amare Stoudemire added 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Jeremy Lin shook off an early bout of sloppiness to come through with some late-game heroics, but the Celtics used an otherworldly triple-double from Rajon Rondo to prevail 115-111.
It was New York's fourth loss in its last seven games. Oddly enough, the Knicks don't have a single winning streak or losing streak during that span -- they have alternated wins and losses for the past eight outings.
Dallas has lost five out of six, including a 95-91 defeat suffered against Oklahoma City on Monday. Despite the Mavericks' uneven play, Dirk Nowitzki has been particularly stellar, averaging 28.7 points in his last three contests.
