Dennis Horner Signs With New Jersey Nets

With Shelden Williams joining the long list of sidelined New Jersey Nets this week, the Nets announced on Friday that the team has agreed to terms with Dennis Horner on a 10-day contract.

Horner, a 6-foot-9 rookie out of North Carolina State, played five games earlier this season with the Nets before being released and returning to the Springfield Armor of the NBA D-League. During 25 games with the Armor, 20 starts, Horner averaged 17.0 points and 8.5 rebounds while shooting .471 percent from the field and .373 percent from behind the arc.

During his five games with the Nets, the 24-year old averaged 0.8 points and 0.6 rebounds in 16 total minutes of play.

The Nets have been devastated by a rash of injuries recently, with Brool Lopez, Jordan Williams and Shelden Williams all among those missing time in the front court.
