Coming off their impressive victory over Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic, the New York Knicks will look to gain more ground in the Eastern Conference standings as they travel to Atlanta to face the Hawks on Friday.
The Knicks are currently third in the Atlantic Division and eighth in the Eastern Conference. They only trail the Sixers and Celtics by 2.5 games in the Atlantic, and catching both would earn New York a top four seed. However; they're only 2.5 games on the Milwaukee Bucks, who are trying to overtake the Knicks for the final Playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Amar'e Stoudemire remains out with a bulging disk in his back. Jeremy Lin is also out for Friday's contest with a sore knee.
