Carmelo Anthony Injury Update: Melo Hopes To Play Wednesday After Injuring Groin

After leading the New York Knicks to a 89-80 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night, Carmelo Anthony is questionable for Wednesday's showdown with the Orlando Magic.

Anthony hurt himself in the second half against Milwaukee en route to a team-high 28 points, and while he returned to action in the fourth quarter he was noticeably hampered.

According to ESPN.com, Anthony is looking to be smart about the injury going forward.

"I don't think it's too bad; I just want to take it day by day," Anthony said. "Tomorrow, (I'll) get re-evaluated and see what happens from there."

The Knicks desperately need Anthony in the lineup with Amare Stoudemire out indefinitely with a bulging disk, Jared Jeffries still on the shelf with a sore knee and Jeremy Lin questionable for the game for a knee problem as well.

"A situation like this requires me to step my game up a little bit more, take it up a notch," Anthony said. "I love moments like this."
