The New Jersey Nets hope to end a three-game losing streak Wednesday night when they take on the Washington Wizards at the Prudential Center in Newark. Things aren't going much better for the Wizards, losers of two in a row and five of six.
Last time out the Nets fell just short against the Cleveland Cavaliers, 105-100. Deron Williams, frustrated by the officials all night, led the Nets with 28 points, while the recently acquired Gerald Wallace added 27 points and 12 rebounds.
After getting a close look at rookie sensation Kyrie Irving on Monday, the Nets get to face another young, exciting point guard in Washington's John Wall. He is averaging 17.6 points and 7.9 assists per game and is fresh off a 25-point performance against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night.
The Nets will also get a look at Nene, a player they went after hard in free agency this past summer. This will be the big man's first game with the Wizards since being traded by the Denver Nuggets at the deadline.
