Nets Vs. Bucks: Deron Williams Out Again For New Jersey

The New Jersey Nets continue their improbable search for a playoff spot against one of the teams they are chasing, the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night at the Prudential Center. The Nets will once again be without Deron Williams, who is hampered by a strained calf.

Even without their leader, the Nets nearly took out the Houston Rockets on Saturday. Playing on his second 10-day contract, Gerald Green led New Jersey with 26 points along with a dunk of the year candidate. He did, however, also inadvertently tip the go-ahead basket for the Rockets in the 112-106 loss. MarShon Brooks added 23 points and seven assists, while Jordan Farmar had 18.

Milwaukee is fighting with the New York Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers for the final playoff spot and have won three of four, including their last two. On Sunday night they took out the Toronto Raptors,105-99. Ersan Ilyasova had a monster 31 point, 12 rebound performance, something the Nets have seen before. The forward dropped 29 on New Jersey back on Feb. 19.

You can watch the game locally on YES or listen on WFAN with tip scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Nets will wrap up their short three-game homestand Wednesday against the Raptors, another team with dwindling hopes of grabbing a spot in the playoffs.
