Red Hot Spurs Visit New Jersey To Take On Ice Cold Nets

The New Jersey Nets will attempt to rebound from one of their most embarrassing losses of the season, a 109-92 beatdown by the Detroit Pistons on Friday, and halt a five-game losing streak when they welcome the San Antonio Spurs to The Prudential Center Saturday night.

On their annual "rodeo road trip" -- forced to stay away from home for three weeks -- the Spurs are red hot, winners of six straight, including the first two games on their epic trip. They also come in rested, having last played Wednesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers. San Antonio will get guard Manu Ginobili back in the lineup after he missed more than a month.

After getting rookie MarShon Brooks back in the lineup against the Pistons, the Nets will still be short-handed on Saturday. Brook Lopez, Damion James, Mehmet Okur and DeShawn Stevenson will all still be out. Brooks scored seven points in just 17 minutes of action vs. Detroit.

The Nets have dropped 17 of 18 games to the Spurs and will need to stop one of the hottest teams in the league if they are going to reverse that trend.

Catch the game locally on YES or WFAN 660 with tip scheduled for 8:00 p.m.

New Jersey will get a much needed three days off before returning to action Wednesday night at The Rock against the Memphis Grizzlies.
