New Jersey Nets At Phoenix Suns: Searching The Desert For A Win

The New Jersey Nets continue their four-game West Coast swing with a stop in the desert to take on the Phoenix Suns at the US Airways Center Friday night. New Jersey has dropped three straight, while Phoenix is looking to rebound from back-to-back losses.

Wednesday night found the Nets explode on offense for 115 points against the Denver Nuggets, but completely lose any thoughts of defense as they feel 123-115. Jordan Farmar led New Jersey with a season-high 26 points off the bench and Anthony Morrow continued his hot streak by hitting on five of nine from beyond the arc.

The Suns lost on Thursday night to the Cleveland Cavaliers, 101-90, when they were burnt by No. 1 overall pick Kyrie Irving for 26 points. Steve Nash did his best to keep Phoenix in the game with 16 points and 15 rebounds in his 35 minutes, looking like anything but a guy in the twilight of his career.

Obviously New Jersey will still be without center Brook Lopez, out with a broken foot, but should get DeShawn Stevenson back into the rotation after sitting two games because of a sore knee. Mehmet Okur is also expected to play with a bad back after putting in 13 minutes against the Nuggets. Damion James continues to sit with a foot injury.

The Nets have lost four in a row and nine of 10 to the Suns, who will represent just the second Western Conference squad they've seen all season.

You can watch the game on YES or listen on WFAN with tip scheduled for 9 p.m..

New Jersey will get right back on the road for Deron Williams' return to Utah when the Nets take on the Jazz Saturday night.
