So much for turning the page.
The New Jersey Nets opened 2011 with possibly one of their worst games of the season, falling on the road to the Minnesota Timberwolves 103-88. They have now lost five straight games.
Sasha Vujacic scored 22 points off the bench to lead the Nets in a losing effort. Travis Outlaw added 17 points while leading-scorer Brook Lopez could only manage six points in 31 minutes.
Minnesota was led by Kevin Love with team-highs of 23 points and 10 rebounds as he recorded his 20th straight double-double. Darko Milicic chipped in 16 points on a near perfect 8 for 9 shooting.
The Nets held a one point lead at halftime but scored just nine points in the third quarter as the Timberwolves turned a deficit into a runaway victory. It was the Nets lowest point total of any quarter this season.
The Wolves have now beaten the Nets eight straight times in Minnesota.
New Jersey will have a few days to try and find a way to turn things around before their next game on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls in Newark.
