Hawks 116, Nets 101: Losing Streak Reaches Five

The New Jersey Nets lost their fifth game in a row Tuesday night, falling to the Atlanta Hawks 116-101 at Philips Arena.

Brook Lopez led the way with 24 points while Devin Harris added 18 to go along with 13 assists. Jordan Farmar continued his strong play by pouring in 16 points off the bench for a Nets team that built up a lead by as many as seven in the second quarter.

The Hawks finished the first half on a 20-3 lead and led the rest of the way. Their 16-point third quarter lead was cut to five in the final minutes before the Hawks shot a perfect 12-12 from the line down the stretch.

Josh Smith and Jamal Crawford paced the Hawks with season-highs of 34 and 26 points, respectively. Al Horford put up 24 points and 10 rebounds for an Atlanta team that has now won 7 of its last 8 games.

New Jersey has dropped four straight against the Hawks in Atlanta.

Things don't get any easier for the Nets as they next hit the court against the Mavs in Dallas on Thursday night.
