Good morning, New York sports fans! I know you're busy today prepping for Christmas, but the sports world never stops, so spend a little time with us this morning before are overwhelmed with things to do.

  • Seems King James now wants to be Commissioner James. LeBron James advocated eliminating teams like the New Jersey Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves in favor of building stronger rosters for the remaining NBA teams. Ah, LeBron, how come you didn't mention Cleveland? You have already destroyed one NBA city, now you want to eliminate more? Here is a novel idea for you, young man. Play basketball, stop talking about stuff that really isn't your business, and let David Stern run the league. Seems to me he's done that pretty well.

  • Jacques Lemaire's third tour as New Jersey Devils coach began Thursday night. Lemaire got a good look at the wreckage left behind by the fired John MacLean as the Devils were routed by the also woeful New York Islanders, 5-1.

  • Seems like there is always something going on with the New York Jets. Despite the constant controversy, including the whole sordid foot-fetish video, owner Woody Johnson came out Thursday in support of coach Rex Ryan. Oh, and in on-field stuff -- you know, the stuff that really matters -- Mark Sanchez will be a game-time decision to quarterback the Jets on Sunday against Chicago due to his shoulder injury.
