Nets 106, Kings 100: Brook Lopez Scores 29 To Lead New Jersey

Newark, NJ (Sports Network) – Brook Lopez dominated in the paint to the tune of 29 points, and the New Jersey Nets made a late surge for a 106-100 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

Lopez was also a frequent visitor to the free throw line, going 13-of-15 while grabbing six boards for the Nets, who have started 2-0 for the first time since 2002-03 despite blowing an 18-point lead earlier in the game. Devin Harris provided 21 points and 10 assists, while Travis Outlaw contributed with 18 points in the victory.

New Jersey, which beat Detroit in its opener after finishing the game on a 13-3 burst, ended this contest on a 17-3 run to claim victory.

Tyreke Evans led a balanced attack with 18 points and seven assists for the Kings, who were looking for their first 2-0 start since 2003-04. Francisco Garcia came off the bench to add 18 points, while Carl Landry and Beno Udrih each had 14 in defeat.

DeMarcus Cousins and Darnell Jackson both provided 12 points for Sacramento.
