Free agent forward Zach Parise has ruled out the Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings as potential destinations, according to Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Craig Custance of ESPN.
Parise is expected to make his decision on Wednesday, but had also been rumored to be making his decision in each of the prior two days. He still is expected to have a number of options, including the New Jersey Devils, Chicago Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild and Philadelphia Flyers.
The 27-year old scored 31 goals to go along with 38 assists for 69 points last season with the Devils, helping lead the team to the Stanley Cup Finals with eight goals and seven assists for 15 points in the playoffs. He is considered one of the top prizes of the 2012 NHL free agent class.
