The NHL announced the sites of the next two drafts on June 22, just hours before the 2012 draft takes place in Pittsburgh at the Consol Energy Center (via NHL).

The New Jersey Devils will play host to the 2013 NHL Draft at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The Philadelphia Flyers will host the 2014 NHL Draft at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Penn. Both teams will serve as draft hosts for the first time. The 2013 draft will mark the first time it will be held in the New York metropolitan area.

The NHL Entry Draft was hosted by Montreal from 1963-1985. The Canadiens have also hosted four other times (1986, 1988, 1992, 2009).

The NHL expects continued increase in coverage and attendance of the draft. The league anticipates that both the 2013 and 2014 venues of the NHL Entry Draft will draw more than 10,000 fans and 500 media members.
