The New Jersey Devils look for their third straight victory Saturday night when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes.
New Jersey can clinch a playoff berth with one point in any of their final four contests. The Devils have won their last two, including a balanced 6-4 effort against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night. Six different Devils scored goals as they drew within a hair of postseason qualification.
Carolina was mathematically eliminated from playoff contention on Friday night after a 4-3 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets. The Hurricanes led 3-1 in the second period before surrendering two goals to tie the score and another just 16 seconds into overtime.
