Tallinder, Elias Put Devils Ahead, 2-0, After One Period

The New Jersey Devils lead the Philadelphia Flyers, 2-0, after one period today at the Wells Fargo Center.

New Jersey leads in shots, 10-5.

Henrik Tallinder opened the scoring at 5:25 of the period. Flyers captain Mike Richards attempted to clear a loose puck from the front of the net. Tallinder intercepted the attempt and fired a shot past Brian Boucher for his second goal of the season and first since October 9.

Patrik Elias extended the league to 2-0 at 12:12 of the period. Elias skated out of the right corner and slipped a shot through Boucher's pads for his 12th goal of the season.

Devils defenseman Colin White went to the locker room with 7:03 left in the first period and did not return.

Flyers fans, unhappy with their team's performance, booed Philadelphia as they exited the ice at the end of the period.
