Blues 3, Devils 2: Devils Get Unlucky Breaks in McKenna Debut

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) – Brad Winchester scored the game-winning goal early in the third period to lift St. Louis to a 3-2 comeback win over New Jersey at Scottrade Center.

Alex Pietrangelo and Eric Brewer notched the other goals for the Blues, who got 35 stops from Jaroslav Halak to remain undefeated at home in regulation (8-0-1).

David Clarkson and Mattias Tedenby tallied for the Devils, who have dropped three in a row and five out of six.

New Jersey was dealt another blow Saturday in already tough season when it was reported by a New Jersey newspaper that goaltender Martin Brodeur may not return to action for up to two weeks due to the recurrence of a right elbow injury. Brodeur was originally hurt in Chicago on November 3.

Mike McKenna, a native of St. Louis, started in Brodeur’s place and wound up taking the defeat after allowing three goals on 27 shots.
