Morning Coffee! Giants Dominate Texans

Good morning, New York sports fans! It's Columbus Day, which makes it a day for lots of the school kids and many of you, as well. It's never a day off around SB Nation New York, though, and it's a busy one for local sports teams.

  • The New York Giants played their best game of the season Sunday, routing the Houston Texans, 34-10, in Houston. Explosive offense, stifling defense, improved special teams play. The Giants had all of that Sunday in improving to 3-2. See Big Blue View for more.

  • The New York Jets will be in action tonight in Monday Night Football. They will be hosting Brett Favre, Randy Moss and the Minnesota Vikings. See Gang Green Nation for all the details.

  • All three local NHL teams will be in action today. The Devils host the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Rangers and Islanders face each other.

  • The New York Mets begin interviewing general manager candidates this week, and Sandy Alderson has emerged as the front-runner. See Amazin' Avenue for more.

  • The New York Yankees do get to relax today, after sweeping the Minnesota Twins in the ALDS. They have to wait until Tuesday night to find out whether Tampa Bay or Texas will be their opponent in the American League Championship Series.
