After one half at TD Garden, the Brooklyn Nets trail the Boston Celtics, 49-47. It was an inconsistent first half for the Nets, who juggled the lineup and tried to get some offensive rhythm going against the veteran Celtics. Deron Williams and Joe Johnson are not playing, providing opportunities for some youngsters and fringe players.
Andray Blatche continues his impressive preseason play, leading the Nets on the offensive end with 15 points. Blatche is in shape and trying to make a statement early with his new team, and he abused rookie Jared Sullinger on several occasions in the first half. Blatche worked Sullinger with an array of post moves, and head coach Avery Johnson has to be encouraged by what he's seen so far from his new big man. Keeping him in shape and focused will be the challenge, as the veteran has always had undeniable talent.
In addition to Blatche, import Mirza Teletovic had a big half on the offensive end. The sharpshooter could be a huge asset in Brooklyn's offense, and he drilled two threes on his way to 11 first half points.
