The NIT's annual sojourn into Madison Square Garden tips off Tuesday with the event's Final Four.
In the first game, the Brigham Young Cougars will face against the Baylor Bears. BYU advanced to the semifinals with a 79-62 road win over the No. 1-seeded Southern Miss Golden Eagles. The Cougars have been impressive in the tournament so far, winning its three games by an average of 15.7 points.
Baylor made up for a 112-66 win in the first round over Long Beach State with an 89-86 win over the Arizona State Sun Devils and a 79-68 win over the Providence Friars in the quarterfinals.
The second game will feature the Maryland Terrapins and the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Terps won a 58-57 road game over the No. 1-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide to advance to New York. Iowa topped the No. 1 seed in its bracket, the Virginia Cavaliers, in the quarterfinals.
Baylor was the only home team to win in the quarterfinal round.
