Super Bowl 2013 line: 49ers favored against Ravens

The 49ers will enter Super Bowl XLVII as favorites, but how much can we expect the line to move?

The Super Bowl is notorious for the many creative wagers created around the game, but also for the debate on some of the gambling basics. The line is picked apart by thousands, who argue for a half-point here and there in the most closely scrutinized sporting event of the year.

This year, the 49ers were promptly made 5-point favorites over the Ravens at the conclusion of conference championship weekend. According to OddsShark, that line has come down to 3.5 points at most sports books. There is still over a week until kickoff, but unless there are major injuries or scandals, the Niners are expected to stay as at least 3-point favorites over the AFC representative.

As for the over/under, that has also come down since it was originally set at 49. OddsShark lists the o/u now at 47.5 in most places, with casual bettors traditionally expected to bet the over.
