The bad news keeps coming for the New York Yankees as the team learned after their loss to the Baltimore Orioles Saturday that Mark Teixeira aggravated his injured calf.
As MLB.com reports, Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Teixeira will undergo an MRI on Sunday and the team will go from there based on the results.
Saturday's game was the first one for Teixeira since Aug. 27, where he went 1-for-4 with a walk and a double. On the season, he is hitting .255 with 23 HR and 81 RBI.
Given the Yankees' struggles over the past few weeks, the team desperately needs his bat in the lineup. The Yankees have another critical game against the Orioles on Sunday.
