As the 2012 U.S. Open nears a dramatic conclusion, Thursday's action is light, as women's singles competition takes the day off, giving way to two key men's quarterfinal matches.
With Andy Murray and XXXX already advancing, No. 8 seed Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia will face No. 4 David Ferrer of Spain, and No.7 Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina will look to upset No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic to fill the semifinal bracket.
Del Potro will essentially be playing his second match in as many days after downing Andy Roddick Wednesday after their round of 16 match was delayed due to rain.
In addition to men's quarterfinal action, mixed doubles will wrap up with Kveta Peschke and Marcin Matkowski pairing up against Ekaterina Makarova and Bruno Soares in the finals.
