Jets Re-Sign Marcus Dixon, Tryout Two Former Bills

The New York Jets resigned defensive tackle Marcus Dixon Tuesday, three days after the organization announced his release, ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini is reporting. Oddly, Dixon took the roster spot of recently claimed defensive lineman Isaako Aaitui, who took Dixon's roster spot Saturday when he was claimed from the Miami Dolphins.

The move was one of a handful from the Jets, who also offered tryouts to two former Buffalo Bills players -- punter Shawn Powell and wide receiver Derek Hagan.

The tryouts could be an act of Week 1 gamesmanship that usually occurs with cut players of an upcoming opponent. Though, Powell was never expected to beat out Bills' starter Brian Moorman, and last season Hagan split time between the Bills and the Oakland Raiders mainly playing on special teams.
