The Syracuse Orange will not play the No. 1 program in college football Saturday at MetLife Stadium; instead, the Orange will have to settle for playing No. 2. The USC Trojans, SU's New York's College Classic opponent, dropped down a spot in the latest AP Poll, which was released Tuesday.
Leapfrogging the Trojans were the Alabama Crimson Tide, who steamrolled the Michigan Wolverines, 41-14, on Saturday. USC's 49-10 rout of the Hawaii Warriors did not impress the pollsters as much.
Rounding out the poll's top five were the LSU Tigers, Oregon Ducks and Oklahoma Sooners.
