2012 U.S. Open Scores: Serena Williams Advances, Agnieszka Radwanska Upset

The 2012 U.S. Open is nearing the quarterfinals portion of play. Many of the top-seeded players have advanced up until this point, but Monday brought a couple of upsets. Let's take a look at the early action from New York City.

On the men's side, Roger Federer advanced over Mardy Fish, who withdrew due to health conditions. Fish has been dealing with heart issues the last few months and many speculated this was the reason for his withdrawal. No. 6 Tomas Berdych defeated No. 11 Nicolas Almagro in three sets, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 and 6-1. Monday night's biggest draw will feature Andy Murray and Milos Raonic facing off in Arthur Ashe Stadium.

On the women's side of the tournament, Serena Williams continued her dominant run with a win over unranked Andrea Hlavackova. Williams did not lose a single game in either set, winning 6-0 and 6-0. No. 2 seed Agnieszka Radwanska was upset by No. 20 Roberta Vinci in two sets, 6-1 and 6-4. No. 10 seed Sara Errani won over No. 6 Angelique Kerber in two sets as well, 7-6 (7-5) and 6-3.
