The New York Mets embark on their final road trip of the season when they head to Atlanta to begin a three-game series on Friday. John Niese takes the mound for the Mets against Tim Hudson of the Braves.
Niese is 12-9 with a 3.49 ERA on the season. The lefty has pitched well down the stretch, going 2-1 with with a 2.95 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 18.1 September innings. Niese last faced the Braves on Sep. 7, when he took a tough loss, allowing just one run in six innings.
The right-handed Hudson is likely making his last start of the regular season, as the Braves will be shutting him down for the playoffs. Hudson is 16-6 with a 3.61 ERA on the year. He has had an inconsistent month, giving up four runs in two straight starts before settling down and going 7.1 innings without allowing an earned run in his last outing.
First pitch is set for 7:35 ET at Turner Field.
