NFL odds Week 4, 49ers vs. Jets: New York listed as underdogs

The New York Jets are currently underdogs entering Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. The line opened at three points, but has expanded to four and even 4.5 points in some books

The New York Jets are currently underdogs in Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers at MetLife Stadium. The odds opened up with the 49ers as three point favorites. Over the course of the week that line has expanded to four points in some books and 4.5 books in others.

The total in the game opened at 40.5 points and has stayed mostly constant with only a few increasing the total to 41 points. The Jets are coming off a 23-20 overtime victory over the Miami Dolphins. In that game quarterback Mark Sanchez threw for 306 yards for a touchdown.

The 49ers are coming off a surprising 24-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. They allowed two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown by Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder. On offense, 49ers quarterback Alex Smith threw for 202 yards and a touchdown while getting sacked three times. The rushing attack was made ineffective, rushing for only 89 yards.
