Wednesday's television schedule, customized for the New York sports fan.

Baseball takes center stage in New York sports on Wednesday as one team is in the midst of a pennant race while the other is just playing out the string.

MLB: Yankees vs. Twins, 1:10 p.m. ET, YES: The Yankees magic number to clinch a playoff spot is down to four. Their magic number to win the AL East sits at seven. Additionally, the Yankees hold a 1.5 game lead over the Baltimore Orioles in the standings, and with CC Sabathia looking for his first win since Aug. 24, his start on the mound in the series finale with Minnesota comes at a perfect time.

MLB: Pirates vs. Mets, 7:10 p.m. ET, SNY: The Mets don't have a magic number for the playoffs, but Pittsburgh does: one. With the Pirates next loss (or a St. Louis Cardinals win), they're eliminated from postseason contention. New York will be looking to play spoilers in Queens on Wednesday night as the team sends Jeremy Hefner to the mound.
